Paying for Home Care

Paying for Home Care

As you consider your healthcare options, many people first think about their finances. Depending on the needs of your loved one, home care is the cheapest option when compared to assisted living, adult day care, or nursing home care. Paying for home care can seem very intimidating and complicated, but it does not have to be. We have a number of options available to meet your financial and healthcare needs.

Medicaid and Medicaid Waiver Programs:

American Care Team is a residential service agency licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Healthcare Quality. We are authorized to provide care in the State of Maryland. We primarily provide care for clients who qualify for Medicaid. Qualified applicants must be approved to participate in Medicaid Waiver programs by meeting Federal financial and medical requirements with the approval of hours as issued by a Support Planner. Your local county and Support Planner Agency will determine your overall eligibility. After you have been deemed eligible and hours are issued on your behalf, you can reach out to your Support Planner  Agency and select American Care Team as your home care agency. We will work with your support planner to develop a care plan to specifically support your needs.

Private Funds (Self-Pay):

If you are not approved for Medicaid programs, you can pay for home care services with private or personal funds. Please feel free to give us a call if you would prefer to pay privately. Our caregivers are paid bi-weekly and the payment schedule will be put in line with the care provided by your caregiver so that they are paid on-time bi-weekly. We can design a program that meets your home care and financial payment requirements.

Long-Term Care Insurance

We can provide support for your in-home care needs, but you will have to determine if your is eligible for the Long Term Insurance coverage. Please call your insurance provider to verify if you are eligible.
